Match Ratings: Sheffield United 1-0 Bristol City

Bristol City fell to a 1-0 defeat in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup tonight as Billy Sharp’s penalty was enough for victory.

Max O’Leary – 6

Made a few shaky mistakes that could have led to a second red card on the night of the Reds. Almost handling the ball outside the area before rushing out and missing the ball later on. Made a few routine saves at 0-0 before a smart one to keep City in the game.

Jack Hunt – 4

Did not offer anything going forward in the game, his last second freekick was utterly disastrous. Lowe had the better of him for the 90 minutes with attacks starting down his side. Looked absolute shattered in the final minutes.

Taylor Moore – 6

The most impressive he was looked in a City shirt for a long while. Sharpness and confidence on the ball has improved vastly. Will probably take the place of Mawson in the next few games,

Tomas Kalas – 6

Lead the central defenders well, the captain had the hard job of keeping Billy Sharp quiet. Made an excellent goal line clearance- that was in vain. Had the only real chance of the game in the first half.

Alfie Mawson – 5

Played quite well before his red card but that was ultimately the reason why City lost. Brewster had a quiet night infront of goal thanks to the loanee. Also helped out Towler at left wick back.

Ryley Towler – 6

Had a decent debut to be fair to him. Looked slightly slow in the first stages of the game but grew into the role as the game progressed. Like Moore, will probably have the game against Watford to show how he can rival Mariappa for a current starting spot.

Zak Vyner – 6

The game kind of passed him by to be honest. I rarly noticed him in hois newer role in the middle of the park. Only times the commentator mentioned him was when he gave the ball away, almost gifting the host a quick fire second goal.

Joe Williams – 7

First time that I have been able to watch Williams play, (England vs India in the cricket has made my sleep schedule as inconsistent as a Jack Hunt cross). Looked heavy in a tackle with is good to see, and helpful on the ball. Obviously got inured, knowing our medical team we wont see him ever again.

Jamie Paterson – 5

Again, did not really notice much from the charasmatic midfielder. Had the one chance to score if Nahki Wells passed to him. More minutes in the legs surely a posative for him.

Nahki Wells – 3

PASS THE BALL YOU GREEDY PILLOCK. Wasted our best chance of scoring. Ballooned another other the bar.

Famara Diedhiou – 5

Did not offer much due to the backs against the wall style Holden is seemingly desired to play. Didn’t have a chance on goal of note. His first touch and hold up play was average against higher opposition.

Adam Nagy – 5

Another midfielder almost anonymous on the pitch, bit of a trend that is. Came on the for the injured Williams for the last 35. I think he got into the Sheffield United final third once, I think.

Han-Noah Massengo – 6

Got on the ball a few times in his 25 minutes. A few sprayed passes across field. The team looked a bit sharper when he was on.

Antione Semenyo – 6

Did what Semenyo does every time he plays. Got the ball and tried to run at the defence. Did not have a clear chance at goal which is disappointing.

Kasey Palmer – 5

Looked interested when he came on the pitch. Got on the ball as much as he could in his cameo. A few smart passes the highlight for him.
